The African Women Devotional Bible is the result of a magnificent four-year collaborative effort involving more than 280 women writers across Africa and 25 Bible societies on the continent.
Published by the United Bible Societies (UBS), the African Women Devotional Bible has been produced in response to the unique circumstances and issues facing African Christian women in their daily lives. These issues range from economic marginalisation and polygamy to poor access to education, motherhood and leadership. The Bible seeks to help women deepen their relationship with God, understand themselves and achieve their glorious destiny in Christ.
The Bible text used in The Bible for Meditation by Women of Africa is that of the English Standard Version. This translation is rigorous and reliable, fluid and pleasant to read.
In addition to the biblical text, it contains:
- 365 Daily Devotions
- 52 Thematic articles addressing real life issues women face in everyday life in Africa.
- Detailed introductions to all books of the Bible
- 52 Analysis of women mentioned in the Bible, exposing their characters, strengths and weaknesses
- Highlight of all the Bible verses with the Women in the Bible and give a short description of each one of them.
- A one-page Bible Reading plan
Designed for personal and collective use with a view to contributing to the healing and restoration of women, the Women’s Meditation Bible is a valuable resource for church leaders and those engaged in work among women.
It is intended for distribution throughout Africa, as well as in the African diaspora around the world, as it is aimed at African women from all walks of life and of all ages.
