(1 Zwiyitikalo 1:34-37)1 Aba ndibo bana ba Esau wakabe edang'wa Edomu. 2 Esau wakalobola bakadzi be Tjikanana, Ada nkololokadzi wa Eloni we Nhiti na Oholibama nkololokadzi wa Ana mwana we mwana wa Zibeyoni we Nhivi, 3 na Bhasemati nkololokadzi wa Ishimaele hazwadzi ya Nebayoti. 4 Ada kazwala Elifazi, Bhasemati kazwala Rewueli, 5 Oholibama kazwala Jeushi na Jalamu na Kora. Aba ndibo bakabe bali bakololo ba Esau bakazwaligwa mu Kanana. 6 Esau katola bakadzi babe ne bakololo ne bakololokadzi babe na bose be nsha uwe kose ne ng'ombe dzidze ne zwimwe zwithuwo zwizwe zose, katola thundu iye yose yaakashaba mu Kanana kayenda ku shango ikule kudwa pa nnung'una uwe Jakubo. 7 Thundu dzabo dzakabe dzawanda kwazo kwabasingake bakagala bose, shango yabakabe bali muili yakabe yamanikana ngekwe zwithuwo zwabo. 8 Ndizo Esau (Edomu) kanogala mu shango ye matombo ye Seiri.
9 Ezwi ndizo zwizekugwana zwa Esau batategulu be Baedomu mu shango ye matombo ye Seiri. 10 Awa ndiwo mazina e bakololo ba Esau: Elifazi mwana wa Ada nkadzi wa Esau na Rewueli mwana wa Bhasemati nkadzi wa Esau. 11 Bakololo ba Elifazi ndi Temani na Omari na Zefo na Gatamu na Kenazi. 12 Elifazi nkololo wa Esau wakabe ana mmwe nkadzi edang'wa kuyi Timina ngono iye kanzwalila Amaleki. Ibaba ndibo bana be bana ba Ada nkadzi wa Esau.
13 Bakololo ba Rewueli ndi Nahati na Zera na Shama na Miza. Ibaba ndibo bana be bana ba Bhasemati nkadzi wa Esau.
14 Bakololo ba Esau be nkadzi uwe Oholibama nkololokadzi wa Ana mwana wa Zibeyoni ndi Jeushi na Jalamu na Kora.
15 Aba ndibo bakabe bali boshe pakati kwe zwizekugwana zwa Esau, bakololo ba Elifazi mbano ya Esau, Temani na Omari na Zefo na Kenazi 16 na Kora na Gatamu na Amaleki. Ibaba ndibo boshe bakazwagwa ndi Elifazi mu Edomu bali bana be bana ba Ada.
17 Bakololo ba Rewueli nkololo wa Esau ndi boshe Nahati na Zera na Shama na Miza. Ibaba ndi boshe bakazwagwa ndi Rewueli mu Edomu. Bakabe bali bana be bana ba Bhasemati nkadzi wa Esau.
18 Bakololo ba Esau ne nkadzi uwe Oholibama ndi boshe Jeushi na Jalamu na Kora. Ibaba ndi boshe bakazwagwa ndi Esau ne nkadzi uwe Oholibama nkololokadzi wa Ana. 19 Ibaba ndibo bakololo ba Esau (Edomu) na boshe babo.
Zwizekugwana zwa Seiri
(1 Zwiyitikalo 1:38-42)20 Aba bakabe bali bakololo ba Seiri we Nhori, bakabe begala mu ntuthu iwoyu: Lotani na Shobali na Zibeyoni na Ana 21 na Dishoni na Ezeri na Dishani. Bakololo ibaba ba Seiri mu Edomu bakabe bali boshe be Bahori.
22 Bakololo ba Lotani ndi Hori na Hemani. Timina wakabe ali hazwadzi ya Lotani.
23 Bakololo ba Shobali ndi Alivani na Manahati na Ebali na Shefo na Onami.
24 Bakololo ba Zibeyoni ndi Aiya na Ana. Ana iwoyu ndiye wakawana misenya ye vula inopisa mu tjilambanyika akalisa madonki a tate babe Zibeyoni. 25 Bana ba Ana ndi Dishoni na Oholibama nkololokadzi wa Ana. 26 Bana ba Dishoni ndi Hemidani na Eshibhani na Itirani na Kerani.
27 Bakololo ba Ezeri ndi Bhilihani na Zaavani na Akani.
28 Bakololo ba Dishani ndi Uzi na Arani.
29 Boshe be Bahori bakabe bali bo Lotani na Shobali na Zibeyoni na Ana 30 na Dishoni na Ezeri na Dishani. Ndibo ibaba bakabe bali boshe be Bahori kuyenda nge migathu yabo mu shango ye Seiri.
Bomambo be Edomu

40 Awa mazina a boshe bakazwagwa ndi Esau kuyenda ne misha yabo ne mituthu yabo: Timina na Aliva na Jeteti 41 na Oholibama na Ela na Pinoni 42 na Kenazi na Temani na Mibitsari 43 na Magidieli na Iramu. Ibaba ndibo bakabe bali boshe be Edomu kuyenda nge mituthu yabo mu shango yabakabe bali gele. Esau ndiye batategulu be Baedomu.
The Descendants of Esau
(1 Chronicles 1.34-37)1 These are the descendants of Esau, also called Edom. 2 Esau married Canaanite women: Adah, the daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah son of Zibeon the Hivite; 3 and Basemath, the daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth. 4 Adah bore Eliphaz; Basemath bore Reuel; 5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. All these sons were born to Esau in the land of Canaan.
6 Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the people of his house, along with all his livestock and all the possessions he had gotten in the land of Canaan, and went away from his brother Jacob to another land. 7 He left because the land where he and Jacob were living was not able to support them; they had too much livestock and could no longer stay together. 8 So Esau lived in the hill country of Edom.
9 These are the descendants of Esau, the ancestor of the Edomites. 10-13 Esau's wife Adah bore him one son, Eliphaz, and Eliphaz had five sons: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz. And by another wife, Timna, he had one more son, Amalek.
Esau's wife Basemath bore him one son, Reuel, and Reuel had four sons: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
14 Esau's wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah son of Zibeon, bore him three sons: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
15 These are the tribes descended from Esau. Esau's first son Eliphaz was the ancestor of the following tribes: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz, 16 Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These were all descendants of Esau's wife Adah.
17 Esau's son Reuel was the ancestor of the following tribes: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were all descendants of Esau's wife Basemath.
18 The following tribes were descended from Esau by his wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. 19 All these tribes were descended from Esau.
The Descendants of Seir
(1 Chronicles 1.38-42)20-21 The original inhabitants of the land of Edom were divided into tribes which traced their ancestry to the following descendants of Seir, a Horite: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
22 Lotan was the ancestor of the clans of Hori and Heman. (Lotan had a sister named Timna.)
23 Shobal was the ancestor of the clans of Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 Zibeon had two sons, Aiah and Anah. (This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness when he was taking care of his father's donkeys.) 25-26 Anah was the father of Dishon, who was the ancestor of the clans of Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. Anah also had a daughter named Oholibamah.
27 Ezer was the ancestor of the clans of Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
28 Dishan was the ancestor of the clans of Uz and Aran.
29-30 These are the Horite tribes in the land of Edom: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
The Kings of Edom
(1 Chronicles 1.43-54)31-39 Before there were any kings in Israel, the following kings ruled the land of Edom in succession:

The area where each of these tribes lived was known by the name of the tribe.
